Trinity, Liv, Josef, Johnny, Jonah, Joy & Joella
Trinity and Liv Ahie have been married since 2012 and are raising five precious children—Josef, Johannes, Jonah, Joy, and Joella.
They met at a campus ministry in New Zealand and started going to a faithful church together, Whitiora Bible Church. It was at this church that they first heard expository preaching and were baptised.
They ended up having a year together in Norway, where they realised how cold spiritually Norway was.
Not feeling called or qualified to be missionaries in Norway at the time, they returned to New Zealand to get a solid beginning on their marriage by being surrounded by a faithful church family.
Years after returning to New Zealand, the Ahie family learned about some new small church plants in Norway for those wanting to be faithful to God’s Word.
Ministry in Norway and Scandinavia
In 2017, they returned with two children to Norway to help the new movement of Biblical churches. They served their small local churches while Trinity worked full-time at international schools to provide for the family.
In 2021, Trinity was a part of planting Sandefjord Evangeliske Menighet (Sandefjord Evangelical Church) alongside Erlend Hardang and Robert Burns. In 2024, after a couple of years of testing, Trinity was appointed as an elder/pastor. He now serves in leadership alongside Erlend and Robert.
In 2025, the same church Trinity and Liv were baptised in, Whitiora Bible Church, commissioned them in their mission of building healthy churches in Norway. They have now joined Global Connections (GC3) as mission partners.
More Training for a Lifetime of Ministry
Trinity and Liv have been greatly blessed by their elders and their local church, but Trinity has felt the need for more training when it comes to the complexities of pastoral ministry. Sadly, Bible schools here in Norway have mostly disregarded the Word of God.
With the desire for Biblical training for pastoral ministry, and with the blessing and support of their elders at Sandefjord and their commissioning church elders at Whitiora, the Ahie family has now moved to California, so Trinity can complete a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) over four years.
How does this fit in Missions to Norway?
Trinity and Liv are now members and attenders of Grace Community Church, California. Therefore, Trinity is currently on study leave from his eldership responsibilities in Norway. He will, however, return to Norway with his family for 10 weeks each summer, and resume his eldership responsibilities at Sandefjord Evangelical Church over that time. After Trinity has completed his M.Div., the family will return to Norway to continue to serve there at Sandefjord Evangelical Church.
Trinity has also been a part of established Teologihuset (Theological Academy Norway), a Bible training center for Norwegians, and is a part of the leadership alongside Erlend and Bob. While in America, Trinity has been assisting with his responsibilities of the training center from afar, and has oversight of translation projects and syllabi resources. Liv is helping significantly with translation projects and editing.
Looking Forward
This time in America, Lord-willing, will hopefully lead to full-time ministry in Norway, where Trinity can continue to serve his local church, other churches, and lead the Biblical training institute in Norway.
After multiple years of being bi-vocational, the Ahie family is transitioning to relying on financial support from their commissioning church, home church, other churches, families, individuals, and organisations who joyfully decide to become part of their mission and support their vision of training and serving Norway for Christ as ministry partners.

Liv Ahie
Liv is a Norwegian native, so she has experienced first-hand the cold spiritual climate of Scandinavia. She studied general psychology at the University of Bergen, then she moved to New Zealand to continue with her studies and to find others who loved God and the Bible.
Liv then lived for 8 years in New Zealand, where she studied at the University of Waikato and worked as a research assistant. She holds a master’s degree with honors in applied psychology, but gladly put her career plans on the shelf when the Lord blessed her with a husband and children.
She home-educates their oldest children, nurtures and cares for their younger children, works in the home, and leads a Bible study for the women of their church when in Norway. Liv is also a translator and editor for Biblical resources in Norwegian.
